A Brief Showcase of Work
****All work shown above is copyright to the designer, Jennifer Landschoot. Some was done as college projects, freelance work for friends, or work at her current place of employment at HypRank in Las Vegas, NV as a graphic designer***
I am a graphic designer with six years of professional design experience. I attended college at Finger Lakes Community College for two years, studying graphic arts and advertising technologies, and three years at the State University of New York at New Paltz for visual arts with a concentration in graphic design. She has her Bachelor's of Science Degree from SUNY New Paltz in Visual Arts. I am currently employed by a company in Las Vegas, Nevada as an independent contractor doing graphic design and website marketing. On the side, I am available for freelance graphic design as long as it doesn't conflict with my current schedule (10PM-6PM Monday-Friday PST). As an artist, I am very well rounded in many aspects of graphic design from color theory to typography. The company I currently work for in Las Vegas, NV does website design and print (graphic) design for clients in Nevada, California and Arizona. I have had the pleasure of working for one company, the same company, for six years to help gain experience in the graphic design world. New and brighter opportunities will come my way thanks to this company.
Inspiration for Art and Design
I always seemed to get asked who is my inspiration, or what is my inspiration for what I do and how I do it. In all honesty I believe that my ideas come from within. I have always been, and always will be a kid at heart. I can be very creative and it shows off in my work. I am also a perfectionist and can't stand it when my work isn't perfect. I have learned, however, that my idea of "perfect" does not apply to what others think is "perfect." When I am finished with a project, I will always see a flaw, but in the long run, it is perfect to me. I will do anything it takes to get things the way they should be. MC Escher and Andy Warhol will always bee my favorites along with VanGogh and Bob Ross. It is comical that I have painters as inspiration, but painting is not a strong point in my artistic nature. I can draw, I can design, I can do live photography, but painting? Nope!
Maybe being born on the same day as Andy Warhol has something to do with my creativity. I am always thinking and driven by detail. I bought my car not only for its saftey features, but because of the color and lines in the body. I buy Legos because that is just another passion that feeds my kid at heart persona. So for my inspiration, everything is a factor.
Another hobby aside from photography would be hiking and (artistic) sketching random friend's photos. I like to do portait sketches. I have not done many in awhile since I run out of time to do so, but they do take the stress away from a day at the office and get me away from the computer screen. I am also a gamer and an adventurer. Graphic Design and Photography are just two of the adventures in my life that I am passionate about. Please take a look at my resume below for all that technical stuff employers want to see and read. Thanks for visiting my page.
